ABSTRACT
The concept of morality among Efik people is dangerous to good behavior and avoidance of abusive words even under provocation. Efik moral values and traditions are deeply rooted in religion, culture and language. In Efik culture and society, Iban Isong - a socio-religio cultural organization is responsible for the maintenance of morality and social control by practically promoting and enforcing norm in Efik value system which compel people to avoid unguarded statements, (abusive utterances and hate- speeches. This study brings to the limelight the relevance of a feminine. socio-religio cultural organization – Iban Isong in the maintenance of social order and control. The study adopted culture area approach which encapsulates oral interviews and participants observation.  The study found that cultural norms, value, ethos among others, can be positively applied to promote morality at large.
