ABSTRACT
The agitation for socio-political restructuring of Nigeria has reached its climax, hence scholars of diverse fields have engaged themselves in the debate, resulting in the barrage of extant literature. The major concentration of this literature is the socio-political and economic restructuring, which may lead to regionalization, resource control, and/or secession. The current work envisions some hiccups in this model and opts for an alternative restructuring paradigm that will address the fundamental questions of human life, integrity, and social justice. In adopting socio-anthropological and historical methods, this work took a serious survey of extant literature in the form of archival, internet materials, and books on Igbo community living. It, therefore, discovers that the socio-political restructuring will not solve the problem of ethnicity, religious politics, and bigotry. Hence it concludes that a viable option for Nigerian restructuring is moral values and mental reorientation through the Igbo community living archetype.
