Two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine (1769) SS3 students. A sample of 200 was randomly selected from five (5) schools.

ABSTRACT
This study investigated the influence of guidance and counseling services on career choice of secondary school student in Calabar Metropolis of Cross River State, Nigeria. Two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine (1769) SS3 students. A sample of 200 was randomly selected from five (5) schools. The instrument used for data collection was the questionnaire guidance and counseling services and students career choice (GCSSCCQ), validated by experts in test and measurement. It contained 15 items constructed in a 4-point likert scale. Chi-square (X2) statistical analysis used for data analysis. The result of the analysis revealed a significant positive influence of information service and counseling service on career choice when tested at .05 level of significance. Based on the findings, it was recommended that government should employ qualified and able counselors in all secondary schools.
